JMA Analytics capability analysis tools (CATs)JMA Analytics provides tools to measure the capability of people working in the vocational education and training (VET) workforce. Its latest tool, ADMINCAT®, is relevant to people in all sectors, as is its next tool, to be launched in February 2012, MANAGECAT™. A core piece of research behind these tools is this major national report. This national research into the VET practitioner led directly to the development of two measurement tools, VETCAT®, the VET capability analysis tool, and CURCAT®, the tool for measuring the industry currency of VET practitioners. Second national forum October 2011 Following the successful first national forum in Sydney in December 2010, the second national forum was convened in Sydney in late October 2011. The 2011 forum for CAT users involved representatives from 18 organisations including 15 TAFE Institutes from QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA.
CAT users As of 1 September 2011, the 23 registered training organisations that have used one or more CAT are listed below. Notably, one Institute has used three CATs and ordered a fourth for early 2012. Eleven have used two CATs. All 13 TAFE Institutes in QLD have used a CAT, and seven have used two. 7 of the 10 TAFE NSW Institutes have used a CAT.
